Experiment 626, known as Stitch, is a fictional character from Disney’s Lilo & Stitch franchise. The more prominent of the franchise’s two title protagonists, he is a genetically engineered extraterrestrial life-form that resembles a blue koala and is the adoptive brother and best friend of human Lilo Pelekai. Although his surface-level destructiveness makes him unpopular with most of the people on Kauai, Lilo sees the good in Stitch and teaches him to be compassionate and accepting.
Stitch is able to secrete a sticky substance from his hands and feet that allows him to adhere to almost any surface or scale buildings and walls; the pads on his fingers and toes can also create a force field. He can also jump a large distance and is shown to be very agile, as well as possessing an ability to move at superhuman speeds.
Stitch’s powerful energy is harnessed by the love he receives from his ohana, giving him a supercharge that allows him to overcome his destructive programming (see the film Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch). He and his ohana help save the other experiments, including a new clone of 625 named Sparky, who Stitch views as a “cousin” due to their shared DNA and the fact that they are both from outer space.
